Understanding My Bill
Your invoice contains a great deal of information and is useful for understanding fees and costs and anticipating when your Fee Deposit will need to be replenished.  Your invoice also provides a summary of the work performed on your matter during the billing period.

We recognize that a multi-page invoice can be intimidating and confusing.  The following four pages provide a brief description of a sample invoice.  Key areas on the invoice have been outlined in red and are identified by a large red number, which correspondences to a description below.

Sample Invoice Page 1
Sample Invoice Page 1
1 Date of Invoice.
2 Invoice Number - Reference this number when calling to discuss your bill.
3 This block displays time expended by the firm on your behalf.  From Left to Right across the page:  Date of Event; Description of Event; Amount of Time spent on Event (billed in 6 minute increments); Monetary Amount Billed for Time; Identifier of Attorney/Staff whose time is being billed.
4 This block summarizes the invoice.  From Top to Bottom down the page: Total Charge for current invoice; Outstanding/Unpaid Account Balance; Applied payments/credits; Annual Interest Rate; Accrued Interest on any outstanding/unpaid account balance calculated using the Annual Interest Rate above.
5 This amount represents the total balance still owing.  If this number is greater than $0.00, then a payment is due within 30 days to avoid interest penalties and/or possible withdrawal of our legal representation in your matter.
